    Panic stations!

This morning was my regular volunteer morning at the library. I left at 1, went to Boots in the village for some lateral flow tests, only to discover they close for lunch until 1.30!
I came home, chatted to DD played with the baby and gave him a bottle, then had a late lunch.
I then went to make DD a fruit tea . I was waiting for the kettle to boil and washing up the baby's bottles when DD came into the kitchen and asked if I was collecting GS1 today.
Of course I was . I knew I was, but had forgotten to keep my eye on the time

It was after 3. He comes out at 3.20 and it's 10 minute drive minimum if all conditions are favourable. I generally like to be parked by 3, so I can get a parking spot down the road from school. GS comes to me at the car now he is in year 5. I put on some shoes, no time for a coat, grabbed my phone and car keys and left.

I drove as fast as possible without breaking the speed limit. Thank goodness the traffic was light. No temporary traffic lights or hold ups. I arrived before GS. There was however nowhere to park.
I parked on double yellow lines on a side street opposite the school entrance. I have noticed others parking there before so always had it in my mind as an emergency park. I got out and waved to GS when I saw him and he came across to me. PHEW!!

Gem, I can imagine the panic you must have felt. The worst thing is trying to park anywhere near a school, isn't it. You must have been so relieved you made it in time.
