January is a quiet month for us as well.

It's a niece's birthday on the 9th and our GS2 will be 18 on the 14th. It's not an easy time of year to celebrate, so I don't know what's happening yet.

My SIL3 has his birthday on January 6th. I give him his card and present along with the Christmas ones, otherwise I would probably forget!
This year they are hosting a birthday brunch for him, so we are all excited to be getting together again after Christmas and New Year

Gem, that's a nice occasion to look forward to. January can seem a bit flat, can't it!

I was talking to DIL2 this morning and we were trying to decide on present for my GS2 who will be 18 in 10 days' time. Afterwards I realised that by this time next year all 4 GCs will have had a significant birthday, even if only a minor significance!

So GS2 will be 18, GS1 will be 20 - no longer be a teenager, GD1 will become an 'official' teenager - 13, and GD2 will reach double figures.
