GJ, I have moved your post from Chat so it doesn't get missed.

Well Hello All 😁🙌
I ve just read the newsletter and thought I’d write a bit. I’m not sure this is the right place but I’m sure someone will file it.
I’m not sure where to start🤷♀️
We moved my Mam in with us during lockdown a year last May.
We converted the dining room for her as she can’t make the stairs. She was getting really depressed on her own. She has a mouth problem which means she can’t eat solids so Hubby has been making nourishing soups. After Two years of seeing GPS and consultants they finally found the cause! She’s now on the right treatment and back onto proper food. She’s enjoying life again. It’s been gruelling for her.
She’s 92 and wanted to be better before she goes 😉
At the end of April we got the keys to a “new to us “static caravan. We have spent some of the kids inheritance so we can enjoy it together. All the grandkids are doing well Rhys is at senior school now still has his own TA. He’s doing well in science!
Ryan is full of beans and plays football and goes to Parkour. Luna has started gymnastics, she’s double jointed so can do the splits already and can cartwheel on the beam! 🙈
Joel can’t wait to start Beavers next week. We are on our second dog trying to help people in wheelchairs. Our first one Fred is happily working in Southampton and Xander leaves us soon for Big School! He came to us for 3 months but COVID hit so he’s still here 15 months later!
I’ll try and look at all your news later.

GJ, It is so good to see you here!!
We have missed you. I know we can keep in touch vis FB, but it's not the same.
You are going a great job in looking after your mum.
Rhys at senior school! My GD goes in September, so I should have worked it out really! They were tiny babies when we joined the original forum weren't they? Well actually my GD was unborn!
I hope you get lots of trips in your static home.
Keep talking to us xx“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

I was just thinking about you and your family this morning GJ! I was actually thinking about our last December meet up in York all those years ago and wondering if we'd meet up again.
Lovely to hear from you with your news. Glad the GC are all doing well and that your Mum is feeling much better. Is she still with you?
I'm sure you'll miss Xander when he goes to Big School, but I'm sure there'll be another replacement in the not too distant future.
Take care and keep in touch! xxBelieve you can and you're halfway there.

Granny Jules - it's great to catch up with your news - it was such a lovely surprise when I saw your post - we have missed you. I don't use FB much and I know several members here don't use it at all, so we never know what's going on! Your poor mum, suffering all that time with being unable to eat solids. I'm sure she feels much better in every way possible now that she can, but how kind of your OH to have cared for her with good home-made soups.
I can' believe Rhys is at senior school, but I'm so glad he's doing well and found a subject he really enjoys. They're all growing up so fast. It seems we blink and there they are - bigger than us and helping us with our gadgets.
I'm sure you will love your static van. Is is far away from you? We had one in Anglesey for about 15 years. We got it when DS1 was just 3 months old and spent most of our holidays and free time there. We reluctantly sold it because we kept moving further away from it and week-ends became impossible, but we all have such happy memories of it. All your GCs will adore it, I'm sure.
Congratulations on both Fred and Xander - I bet they will make a huge difference to people's lives as well as being a much-loved pet. You and your OH must work hard to give them the grounding and training to move on to Big School.

Hi again, sorry it’s taken me awhile to get back to you. I thought I’d got good news to finally tell you, but it stopped at that last message. Since then, Xander has been withdrawn as his ear infection is back again. That’s the only reason, he’s brilliant at everything else. But they deem it as not compatible with a disabled person having to sort it out. He’s to be adopted. Hubby would love to keep him, but sorry , I don’t want a dog for the next 10+ years, right now. I want freedom!
DD2 has been renting her home for the last 10 years and has been given 4 months notice to move out. The Estate needs it back to house farm workers. She is devastated. It’s opposite the Twins school. They have more friends then they ever had, and there are no houses for rent or to buy in the area that they can afford! So it’s all change there.
On the good side Mam is still eating and has put 4 pounds on. She’s getting really forgetful and that’s worrying.
I really wanted to join you all again with good fun things to share. I suppose everything will sort itself out, .
If absolutely needed the Girls can move in here, or at my Mam’s. We’ve both got good schools nearby and DD2 can work from home. I don’t know if we’d survive! though.
Daisy our van is an hour away, a nice drive, at Tattershall Lakes. Still only stayed two nights. Daughters have used it more.
Hopefully better news next time. I still need to catch up , big time.
Love to you all
Xx

What a pity about Xander, GJ. I hope he goes to a lovely new home.
Poor DD, that is the hard part about a rented home. What a shame if they have to move. At least the children are quite young and will adjust to a new school though, if it comes to that.
Well done helping your mum gain some weight“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

GJ - you must be so pleased your Mum's gained some weight. Does she feel better for it?
Xander will make someone a brilliant pet, but what a pity he won't be able to become an assistance dog. I once met a couple with a retired guide dog (I think his owner has passed away just as he reached retiring age) and they said he was an amazing dog, but they had to learn how to treat him like a guide dog rather than try retraining him. He was lovely, and so gentle.
Your DD2 must be so upset about having to move from such an ideal house. I hope she finds somewhere just as good very quickly. Children do adjust to new schools, but it isn't what you'd choose for them, is it.
We're here to share the downs as well as the ups of life, the rainy days as well as the sunny ones.
