National Poetry Day - 8th October

Today is National Poetry Day, and even though it's a bit late in the day, I wondered if any budding bards fancied writing a little ditty - or a long ode - about GRU? Online publication is guaranteed!

    Grans'rus is wonderful site,
Free to browse both day and night!
    Welcoming,frieñdly full of fun,
Yet serious when that must be done.
A common bond unites us all
    The blondes,the greys,the short,the tall.
Our childrens' children are our life
Their troubles cut us like a knife
Yet most of all they give us joy
    The babes,the tweens,the girl,the boy
So thanks all grans on Grans'rus
Knowing you all is so joyous!

Clover - that's brilliant, and lovely, and true (we hope it comes over as friendly etc), and you are very clever!

Any more poets hiding their lights under a bushel?

                A place

A place where friends can be found
A place to keep my feet on the ground
A place to give and get a hand
A place where happy meetings are planned
A place to share new baby joy
A place to tell us about that perfect toy
A place to call in every day
A place that suits me in every way
                A place called GransRus!

Gru? Is it short for grumpy?
                  Is it about you?

                  Are we very gruesome?
                  Or just a jolly fewsome?

                  Are we gruff and grubby?
Or just a bit too chubby?

                  Are we quick to grumble?
                  Or just very humble?

Do we ever bear a grudge?
Or oft times give a tiny nudge

                  To others?

                  Do we scoff on Gruyére?
                  While skulking in our lair
                  In the kitchen?

                  Oh no! It's GRU
                  A trigraph coined especially
                  For women wise and charming,
Always kind and good as gold
But just - a bit alarming!

Sum and Gem - excellent! I love them both.

Sum - we're not really alarming - are we?
