    Easter Makes

Is anybody making anything for Easter - Easter bonnets, decorated eggs, special cakes etc. Or is it the sort of thing you did when your own children were small?

When our sons were young we always used to blow eggs and paint the shells - it usually resulted in a lot of mess and very few whole eggs, but was fun. I had one go at hot cross buns - they were ok, but not worth the effort - and quite often made a Simnel cake, mostly because it was a good excuse for me to eat all the marzipan OH doesn't like!!

I just did hard boiled eggs with eldest last weekend and she painted them and I bought bows which had a pin in them to go through the eggshell think she was happy , I am trimming up a little tomorrow got the twins, DS and dil for tea fish and chips Good Friday , so have a banner of chickens, eggs etc and making a branch out of a wisteria tree in the garden , and hanging polystyrene eggs on them that’s about my limit 🤣

Oma - I'd forgotten about making daffodils with paper plates etc! They were quite good fun.

Qwerty - the eggs sound lovely, and your decorations.

Having worked with children for 20 years, I annually made all sorts of Easter things with them over the years. When GD was small I did with her.

I have a few Easter decorations which I put up, that is about it around here.

We don’t do anything now. But used to make all sorts when they were little, don’t think DS (nearly 20) would appreciate little fluffy chicks now 🐣🐤

We will make some of those chocolate cornflake nests with mini eggs in on Sunday morning with the grandchildren.

Avo - I'm sure they will love both the making and the sampling.

We used to paint eggs when the grandaughters were small.
So we won't be doing nything special.

WeeGranny - that's beautiful - I think that little face has a lovely peaceful expression, and I love the colours too. I hope some little baby will treasure it for ever.

Thank you Daisy! There's a blue on nearly done too. I've several new arrivals due this year ( friends rather than family) so thought I'd do something different for them!
