    Idea for Libragran

I'm in the process of making a memory bear for my neice. Her friend died recently of cancer & had bought my great nephew an outfit for his Baptism. She didn't just want to keep it in a drawer so I'm making a memory bear out of it for her.

It was while I was doing this that I thought of you. You're great at patchwork so why not make a cushion cover with an item of your lovely 'girls' clothing? It could be a project you could all join in. You could use anything to decorate it with ...a bow from a headband a few buttons from a garment. If you want to be really clever you could even transfer a picture. The girls could write in a square & basic stitch over it. What a lovely thing to cuddle at night when relaxing with your Bacardi. Just a thought.

What a nice idea, Nana. It could also work for Grans who don't see their GCs as often as they'd like.

That's a brilliant idea Nana thank you. They do have cuddle cushions on their beds I made all 4,but the idea of adding something personal is a great idea. I have just bought some lovely quilting fabric.

I love the idea of memory bears/cushions. Wish I'd kept some of our DC's clothes, would love to make one. I might see if DD has any of GCs, thanks for the idea.

I made toys for two of my GC. There's loads of ideas on Pinterest. One of my favourite craft sites. Libra if you're a member just type in memory cushion covers, memory quilts etc. The choices are endless.

When my dad passed away, 7 years ago, I wish we had had this done with some his many shirts etc. We brought bagsful of lovely clothes away from the nursing home afterwards. Most went to charity shops, but I think Mum kept some.

I'd be willing to help you Gem if you need it. We donated mum's better clothes to an old people's home in her town. The rest we gave to Charity.

My niece got the memory bear I made for her today. She was thrilled & emotional as it would have been her friend's birthday today. I didn't know. The beauty of 'serendipity'.
