With our future plans being to move away,I decided there is no point in paying out for fitted bedroom furniture for someone else to get the benefit when we sell up.So I have really gotten into making over all my pine furniture.I discovered a chalk paint which say's no prep needed, but erred on the side of caution and lightly sanded the items I have done so far. This task is not for the faint hearted, but I must admit I'm chuffed with the two items I have already done.No more boring old pine, still got 2 wardrobes to make over, but as I have a busy week at work next I will leave this for when I have a week off. I love arts and crafts anyway,so this challenge is right up my street.I can't see the point in throwing/giving away perfectly good, solid furniture just because I bored of it.

Brilliant LG. My daughter does this for a living her website is on here under Interesting websites, Mariposa, which is Spanish for butterfly. It may give you a few tips and hints. Currently she is transforming an old mahogany round extendable table and chairs for us and it will look lovely and save us space.Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go. We did this about 15 yrs ago to a huge Solid pine table and 8 chairs , we stripped it back and white washed it with paint and grain looked beautiful and I re covered the chairs it saved a fortune , we also had a large serving table in dining room with it so we did that to match I hated getting rid as it was all lovely pieces but that's the sacrifice you have to make when downsizing . By the way Libra I have put the same crystal knobs on bedside drawers in spare roomIm not fat just 6ft too small
