    Art Tutorial

As I mentioned elsewhere DIL2 and I enjoyed a day splashing paint around under the guidance of a lovely tutor. We had great fun, and although mine isn'e yet finished here is the "masterpiece" (ahem!) after my day's work.

Daisy, meant to ask what paints did you use?

WeeGranny - I used acrylics. I really like them, but my DIL prefers oils. She's just got some water-soluble oils but hasn't tried them yet. What do you generally use?

Plant - I certainly was tired - I ached all over from standing, and just concentrating for that length of time!

Nanto - thank you. You're very kind, but I look at other people's work and think "I wish I could do that!"

Oma - I have to say, nobody got wet feet!!!

I've dabbled with this picture a bit more, and the temptation is to keep dabbling, but I've decided it's done - finished or not!

Very dramatic Daisy! Well done. Are you going to hang it somewhere?

I'm hoping to find a class when I move, because I do miss having someone to guide me! My last work was in watercolour, but I really like pastels , don't mind chalk or oil.
I have to admit I'm not keen on acrylics, I've tried oils which I enjoyed, but they take so long to dry!!

                          It's so good Daisy.

I hope you find a class when you move WG.

WeeGranny, you're very kind. DS1 has offered to frame it for me, which is embarrassing because I'll have to stick it on a wall somewhere.

My DIL2 prefers oils, but like you, hates waiting for them to dry. She's just bought some water-soluble oils (not sure if that's the correct term) and she hopes they will dry quicker, and they don't have the same smell as ordinary oils. I do hope you find an art group when you've moved.

                            Gem - you're very kind. x
