Sea Fever - apologies to John Masefield

"I must go down to the sea again, to the lonely sea and the sky"

Yes, I'm afraid I'm back on the seascapes!

This is a work in progress which I've been putting off working on for two or three weeks because I wasn't happy with how it was going. Today I painted over the bits I didn't like. It's a long way from finished, and the next challenge is to put detail in the rocks. Then I want the sea crashing over them.

A very good start indeed Daisy!
Did it feel good to get back to painting again?

Thank you ladies - you always boost my confidence. I seriously have no idea how to judge either my photos or my daubings.

Gem - yes, it felt great. I can't work for too long as my shoulder starts aching, but I do love it. Oma - I don't know! We'll see - it could all go horribly wrong as I've never done rocks before and I've never done waves crashing on them either.

Oma - thank you so much for that - it was what I was hoping to achieve.

I'm envious! I packed my paints etc away in anticipation of our move and I'm not sure I can be bothered to get them back out again! I may end up buying some more stuff!!

Good start to your painting though Daisy!
Believe you can and you're halfway there.

Yup, that sea looks wet! Very impressive Daisy.

You reminded me of Spike Milligan’s version…

I must go down to the sea again,
The lonely sea and the sky.
I left my vest and socks there,
                    I wonder if they’re dry.

                      Lol Grauntie.
When I was very young I worked for a theatre company touring schools. One of the shows was a poetry workshop thing. Several funny poems and that was one of them 😊 Happy memories.

Grauntie - I loved Spike's verses, and I'd forgotten that one. Thanks for the memory.

I did a bit more today. I started to tackle the rocks which I think are really hard. Nowhere near finished yet, but a bit of progress (hopefully!)
