What they do here is hide them who ever finds them they rehide it gets the children out looking for them it is on Facebook it seems every village or area has a page (name then rocks) my d1 found 1 at the top of rosebury topping and rehid it at bishop Auckland some one found 1 at bishop Auckland and took it to liverpool think to see how far your rock will travel
They are really lovely, Clover, clever lady. I found our local village had a page on FB like granma2 said above and people say where they are found and then hide them again.
I have some painted stones around the garden that DGD made when she was about 8, she thinks it is very funny that they are still there.

As Gm2aj says there maybe a local rock hiding scheme, vwith a Facebook page.
Our village does. My GD tends to take the ones she paints home to put in her garden though 😊

Clover - they are so bright and beautiful and bring a smile to my face. I definitely wouldn't want to part with them. I think putting them in your own garden or in pots is a lovely idea - or have you got a windowsill where you could display them?
