Star Crossed or how a first date can go wrong!

My GS1 is nearly 15, but quite 'young' in many ways.

Today he had a date with a girl he has met at climbing. They have been climbing buddies for a while, and today they were meeting for lunch and the cinema.

His mum took him there and then went shopping. Then she had a frantic call, GS1 was in the loo at the restaurant, feeling sick! "First date nerves" decreed mum.

But it wasn't! He really was poorly!

So she rushed back and took them both back home. GS1 had a temperature and was feeling very nauseous. His date was very sweet. She made a fuss of their dog, and had a nice chat with his mum about gel nails etc, and eventually her dad came to collect her.

    Poor GS1 was gutted.

But the great thing is that he coped! He phoned his mum when he realised that he wasn't well enough to cover it up, and he was apologetic to the young lady, and concerned that they had wasted cinema tickets that had already been purchased. So, I feel really proud of him for coping so well in such a difficult and unexpected situation.

When his mum started to tell me the tale, my heart sank in case she hadn't turned up, but even though it wasn't what they'd planned, I feel so proud of him for coping.

Oh what a shame for them both Daisy!
But how well he coped, and he is to be praised for that. He sounds a very mature lad.
Let's hope Date Number 2 goes smoothly
..and I hope GS1 is better soon!

How embarrassing for your GS Daisy, good job mother was able to rescue him. The young lady sounds very nice, taking it in her stride.

They both acted like adults, all praise to them.

Hope he is feeling better Daisy.

What a disappointment for them but such a sensible young man to phone his mum his young friend sounds quite delightful taking it all in her stride and chatting to your DD hopefully they can rearrange when DGS feels better and enjoy their film.

What a shame for them both Dasiy! But well done to GS1 for having the sense to call Mum and not have been taken ill in the cinema. And well done to the young lady for coping so admirably too. I do hope there's going to be another date with no mishaps!
