Proper toilet training

Our twins have been amazing at potty training all done in a week and dil tells me she’s doing away with the potty at Easter, they have a downstairs loo we don’t. They are both good as they never tell us the want to go on the potty they just do it, sometimes you get the hand on the frontage shall we say and they are asked do you need to go 🙄 but once my pottys are taken away will they tell me, dil says J the boy doesn’t always put the seat up and so it backfires for want of a better word, now it’s 40 yrs since I stood over a little boy in the loo so I am going to have to accompany him for sometime , it’s difficult as I still have to watch them up and down the stairs they are quite capable of managing the stairs they still come down on their bottoms but the first time I left them one of them would be bound to fall so i could be spending a lot of time upstairs or halfway down them , I have the small toilet seat for M but that will be have to be removed before J gets into position , I also have the little stool for them to climb up to the loo, but never had to deal with two at a time and not of different sexes watch this space 🚽🚽

You'll be like Christopher Robin......Half way up the stairs is a stair where I sit, There isn't any other stair quite like it. It's not at the bottom, it's not at the top,
So this is the stair where I always stop!!

Qwerty - it's a long time since my GSs were at that stage, but I'm sure they sat on the loo to start with, and if J did that it would save you having to keep moving M's small seat on and off. It also makes for better directional control!

If I were you I think I'd still keep a potty downstairs for emergencies.

It will probably all go much more smoothly than you think.

Ping pong ball . its amazing a ping pong ball in the loo boys love to aim at them
I always put a old towel on the floor to catch any dribbles from the boys and it can then be thrown in the washer ,
Not sure about the stairs thing as always had a downstairs loo even when mine were small , I can imagine there will be a lot of scooping them up and running up the stairs at the last minute when they leave it too long

It must be tricky with 2 toddlers and no downstairs loo Qwerty!
My previous home didn't have one, but as I moved here when GD was only 16 months old, it wasn't a problem.
Is there a chance of looking after them at their own house during the training period?

It will certainly keep you fit Qwerty to say the least its so long since I did this we at present just have the potty for GGD when she visits and we are lucky to have downstairs loo for when she progresses hopefully during the summer months.

P.S. I would stock up on lots of extra little nicks and undies for those little dribbles. ha-ha

It's a long time since my boys were toilet trained, but we do have a downstairs loo.

Both grandaughters were good at toilet training.

The twins will probably do better than you think, but it will certainly keep you fit.

I prefer to be at my home Gem just feels a long day in someone else’s as I can get on with things while they play, I so want a bungalow or smaller house with downstairs loo it’s driving me scatty, I need one for my own use these days, we have 2 bathrooms was great when all 4 of us adults were going out to work at similar times but seems a waste now of course I use it just decorated it . The ping pong thing sounds good he is pretty good at aiming when the seat is up but forgets to lift it , it’s not easy with x 2 we shall see thanks for the advice and the poem WG I had forgotten that poem yes I shall be organised trust me lol
