    February half term

As it is half term, we had GS1 here all day.
OH was out playing golf for a lot of the day. It was not very good weather, and GS had had a full day out yesterday, we were happy staying in today.
I showed him the toys which we inherited from friends GC, which he hadn't seen before. He played with those a lot, then we both played with playdough. Then 2 Disney films, one before and one after lunch, a Play Bath which took a lot of the afternoon. Ludo, Guess Who and Snakes and Ladders. Then tea time, including pancakes, then making a very quick Valentines card for mummy.
Then into the car and off to meet Mummy halfway. OH came, and drove us.

I enjoyed my busy day with GS and told him so

On Friday it will be the other two!

We had both girls again today, plus puppy. GD1 is very keen to do jobs to earn money at the moment. She spent ages going through a bag full of used stamps (a friend collects them for charity), neatening the edges and sorting UK from foreign ones. I didn't realise quite how many there were so her rate of pay went up from 50p to 75p! They both earned 10 p for feeding our neighbours' cats. We did lots of drawing and colouring, playing with dogs, and I cooked chicken, potatoes and 2 veg for lunch, plus pancakes in the afternoon, which went down well, even if GD1 did want a knife and fork to eat them with. (She doesn't like getting her hands sticky or messy).

I always try and encourage a bit of quiet time after lunch and today GD2 played on her Fire and GD1 read, so I got a few precious minutes with feet up as well.

Enjoy it while you can, before they grow up.

I thought the same yesterday Nan2. It all passes quickly. GS1, a big boy for 5, sat on my knee some of the time while we watched a DVD. I remember GD doing the same, and feeling that she was getting big for my knee, then before I knew it, she was Too Grown Up for sitting on knees. So this time around I am treasuring it

I wish my GD was physically affectionate Qwerty. I know she loves us, but she's not a kissy cuddly girl. Her mummy really was.
My friend who screams and shouts at her 2 GDs always gets kisses, cuddles and I love you Granny. I do envy her. I think GS1 will be cuddly for a long time yet, he's very tactile.

It's funny Qwerty because my DD1, mother of GS1 was very self contained as a child and not very kissy cuddly. Her sisters were both very affectionate with me for many years, and DD3, even now cuddles and kisses me for ages every time she sees me
You would think GD was DD1's child not DD2's!

Gem - I think little boys are often very cuddly - especially with their Grans. Even my DS1 likes a bit of a cuddle. Both my GDs are cuddly and will often sit on my lap or snuggled up on the sofa, although they are having to compete with their puppy at the moment! It can get quite crowded.
