    Unfair

When I collected my GD from school yesterday, she seemed a little subdued when I asked how the day went. That afternoon the teacher had put the whole class on Orange Face (Red is where you are sent to the headmaster, Orange not quite so bad) GD is very good and law abiding and to be put on Orange Face is a big deal to her. To many others too I'm sure.
This happened because two of the children were talking, so GD reports. I never think it is fair when whole groups are punished for something a minority has done. I think it proves nothing and rarely makes the wrong doer behave better!

It looks like the teacher has lost it, perhaps she has had a bad day, but yes seems a shame all the class have to suffer for 2 chatterboxes

I suppose it doesn't do the children any harm, life isn't fair is it. If it happens too often then something should be said.

It sounds very unfair to me as well Gem.
Rosie once got into trouble at school, because of 2 other girls.
They were looking at something on their phones. When the teacher saw them,
they said it was Rosie's phone.
Her dad never interferes with school, but on this occasion he did.
He told the teacher that Rosie didn't have a phone, as it was broken,
and both her parents refused to buy her a new one.
The teacher did apologise after to her after.
But from that day to this,Rosie hated that teacher.

Gem - I can understand why she'd be upset - it's offended her sense of fair play. If I were Mummy, I'd certainly ask to hear the teacher's version of events (not that I think GD is telling untruths, but the teacher is more likely to see the whole picture.)

Not fair but perhaps it was the final straw for the teacher as others may have been chatting previously and she wanted to make the point that this behaviour wouldn’t be tolerated. I’m sure your GD wasn’t to blame though and felt justifiably upset.

Doesn't sound fair, but I do think as their Grandma's we can be a little sensitive to any critisicm of our GC.
