Grown up, but not so much!

My 8 year old granddaughter is quite grown up in lots of ways, and wants to be more grown up as many children do.
Heartening then when her mum told me that on hearing they were to come here for the night directly from school yesterday, GD gave her a list of cuddly toys which simply had to come with her. Still our little girl

However, she also asked that DD didn't bring her suitcase to school (which of course she wouldn't anyway, it would stay in the car) The reason being it was Minnie Mouse one, and apparently not cool enough for school!

Gem, bless her. At 8 you really have to be super cool - it's the law! How sweet that she wanted her furry friends to go with her.

Bless her, the pressure to seem to be grown up happens sooner and sooner these days .

When I took the children to early dinner last week little Ms Sadie was very definite about what she wanted and most of it was a change to to the menu but very definite as I say. 7 going on 37 I said to husband. Sadie is not a dolly/cuddly toy sort of girl which I put down to having an older, very active big brother and thekidestyke the family lead which is full of walking, climbing, cycling, camping. All three of them are very grown up.

I want her to stay a baby forever Qwerty, especially as she is our only girl! You can't halt nature though, and I'm glad she still plays with dolls and cuddlies, as well as the more grown up side of loving pop music, Strictly etc!
And being too old for Frozen. I love Frozen!!
