Gd1 has gone to school today for an 11+ day. Not sure if this is tutoring or exam practice. Either way she was in tears this morning when here for breakfast. Her class will be split up this next year which is a good thing as she won't be with the spiteful horrors of previous years. GS1 moves up to year 4, quite happy. GS2 will become a 'mixed infant' πHe can't wait. GS3 starts at playgroup. That will be interesting...I fear he will be as his mother was, limpit like.π¬

GM - Poor GD1 Do you know what she was upset about? I know my GD1 gets anxious before the start of a new term, but when we were talking about her new school on Tuesday she was really excited. But it could still all end in tears. You must be pleased she won't be with the spiteful horrors. I'm sure they will be under loads of pressure for the 11+. It's love for GS1 - being a mixed infant is great! I can remember looking up at the entrance to my first school and seeing 'Mixed Infant' over the door - much nicer than being one of the 'Boys' or 'Girls'!! I hope GS3 sees playgroup as a great adventure - my GD2 does and I think she's only cried when she'd had to go home!!"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. GS1 (6yrs old) moves up into his next class & a new building next to his old school. Fortunately he likes school & will be happy to see his 'mates' again. I'm nervous for him as his teacher thinks he's dyslexic so will be tested when he starts back. The teacher said he's the youngest child they've had to be tested. On the positive if he is he'll get extra support.
GS2 is moving up to 'the big room' at Nursery. A bit more disciplined I think. Bless he's only 3. DD1 hasn't decided yet what to do with GS3 (2yrs old in Dec). GD will be starting Nursery when mummy goes back to work after her maternity leave in Feb 2018.
Good luck to all our GC on here."Good friends help you to find important things when you have lost them....your smile, your hope, and your courage."

GS1 is excited about starting school tomorrow. I am not talking about it today unless he does, as I think they can have Overkill at this stage.
Being almost 5 (October) he is certainly ready, and is a bright child, so we have no real worries.
My only worry is that his friends are girls. He does have couple of boys that he plays with but his real friends are girls. He loves imaginative games, which not many boys seem to. He is as happy playing princesses and ponies as superheroes!
This has been fine within our family and amongst DDs friends, not sure how other boys will react at school however.βA grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.β β Unknown

GS apparantly had a good first day.
He was awarded a certificate for being the Best Listener (he could do this more for us!) and got a sticker for tidying up and a 'clean plate award' LOL
GD has settled back fine. When I picked her up she told me they are 'doing the stone age', and described all the lunch time routine to me

He seems to enjoy going and that is brilliant. There was no school today (training day) so we had him stay over last night and he's been here all day whilst mummy was working. He was a pleasure to have. I had forgotten how easy having only one is!Grandmothers are just antique little girls - author unknown

It sounds as though all our GC are settling into or back to school.
My GS is loving it. Today on the short walk back from school to his house various little girls were calling out his name, and one ran up to him and they had a lovely hug in the street!βA grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.β β Unknown
