    Kids Concert

Last night we had the honour of seeing not only our GS1 play solo Guitar and Ukulele in concert , ( very proud moment ) but some of the most amazing talented young people ever ,
The Academy GS1 goes to arranges it each year to showcase not only the academy but the local Primary's too .
The children ranged in age from 5-16 , it was a long day for them they rehearsed all day and it didn't finish till 10pm yet the little ones sung their hearts out even though it was well past some of their bed times. The Academy plus 5 Primary's took part .
Their Choirs sang Motown, Abba, Beatles, Oasis, Adele and lots more , also had dancing.
also The most amazing Drum Group who did a performance a lot like Stomp , very loud but I cant stress enough how good they were , they could give any professional's a run for their money , all aged between 11-16 ,
You could see how much work had gone into it and how hard they worked .
Only one little girl about 5/6 had a bit of a melt down near the end ,a few tired tears but she came back on stage and finished with the rest ,
The older year 11's had their own band and group who were very good .
They all have the morning off school today ,just as well as the little ones wont have got to bed till around 11 by time they got home bless them .

I have put a pic in Media , GS1 is in the second from back row in the middle with Turquoise top on

Sounds like an enjoyable evening for the children and audience, love to hear children singing. How many more talents has your GS got Oma, lots of wet eyes in the audience I imagine.

        What a lovely evening Oma.
They all deserve the morning off school, after all that hard work.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

That sounds a wonderful concert Oma, and as you say, a lot of hard work for the children.

Oma - what a wonderful evening, and how proud you must have been of J. I love to hear children making music, and this really does sound fabulous. Worth all the hard work.

It must be a DS thing - we still have DS2's drum kit scattered round our house - the bass drum won't go through the loft hatch so is in a spare bedroom!
