Chinese New Year. Granddaughters teacher moved to tears by her class!

In common with most, if not all schools, my granddaughters school has been learning about the Chinese New Year. As GD is now in Year 2, there is homework. She has been terribly excited about last weeks which was draw a Chinese dragon or make one or of Lego. She chose to draw.
Then my daughter and some of the other parents decided how nice it would be if the children made a Chinese dragon, each child decorating their own cardboard box, as a segment of the dragon. They contacted the other parents in the class by text, Facebook group, or message passed on by other parents. They arranged to arrive at school 10 minutes early on Friday. My SIL went too with the baby so he could see it.
The children lined up with their dragon, each with their own box over their head. It was amazing and DD told me the class teacher, when she saw it was moved to tears! She had no idea that it was being planned.
I think it is so lovely that not only were the children keen to do this (they didn't have to take part, of course) but busy parents found to time to help their children at home and get them to school 10 minutes early. A big success, and I am very proud of my daughter, granddaughter and the whole class
If I can get hold of a photo I will post it here.

Gem - that is fantastic. What an amazing class of children, with amazing parents. I hope someone took photos both for the teacher and for the school's website. It's such a tribute to the ethos of the school that children and parents worked together like that. Well done to your daughter and granddaughter.

What a fabulous gesture the teacher must have been so proud of her class and well done to the parents for being " hands on" so to speak,as stated a nice report on the schools website would go down very well indeed
