Nan2's nephew now has a beautiful baby girl, so we are well and truly last in the race!

DD went in for a stretch and sweep procedure this morning. The cervix is still too tightly closed to do it properly, so it's unlikely to have any effect.

We all think baby is sensibly waiting for these couple of very hot days to pass, to make it better for DD's labour and baby's early days!

Gem - I can imagine DD3 is feeling a bit disappointed the stretch and sweep will probably not hurry baby up. But I agree - being in labour in this heat would be horrendous. I hope DD3 is getting plenty of rest with her feet up, though. Sending hugs. xx

Well and truly last in the race, but we got there in the end!

17 days late, my third grandson arrived this afternoon, after a very long labour.
Healthy and beautiful, weighing in at half an ounce under eight pounds.

No name yet. They were still discussing several names for both genders the other day, and were finding boys names the hardest!

Gem - the main thing is "healthy and beautiful" - and a good weight. We found it hard to choose boys' names, and so did our DS1 and DIL1!!

Do your think they'll go for a traditional classic name like his cousins or a 'modern' one?
