    Watch with Mother/Grandmother

I'm sure we've all watched children's tv programmes with both our own children and our grandchildren. What did/do you enjoy watching?

With my children it was Rainbow when they were little, any Lassie film when they were a bit older and Grange Hill after that.

With my GDs I watched Peppa Pig, Mr Tumble, and Ben and Holly. We still watch Tom and Jerry together sometimes.

    Good thread Daisy!

I still have the grandchildren here so can't give it full attention now.

With my kids it was Blue Peter,Play School,Trumpton and Camberwich Green.
The only one that sticks in my mind is GD2 watching Rosie and Jim.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

With DDs 1 and 2 Rainbow, Grange Hill, Blue Peter, Demon Headmaster all spring to mind.

Rosie and Jim was DD3's era, plus by then we had TV other than terrestrial. We enjoyed Hey Arnold and Sabrina The Teenage Witch together.

All three GC have loved Peppa Pig, Mr Tumble and The Cat in the Hat knows a lot about that. GD loved Wooley and Tig when she was little.

I used to love watching Rosie and Jim, Blue Peter, Bill and Ben, lots and lots more. My watching days started with Muffin the Mule at a friend’s house.

I remember Watch With Mother as a child Plant. Plus the teatime shows of Beverly Hillbillies, Mr Ed, The Addams Family, The Flintstones, My Favourite Martian, and Bewitched.

Plant - my own tv watching started with Muffin the Mule, as well. I think Bill and Ben were close on his tail. My mother never watched them with me though!

Gem - I think you were the prefect age for a generation of brilliant children's tv programmes. The Beverly Hillbillies, the Flintstones and Bewitched are all ones I loved as well, even as a teenager.

Plant - so did I! I think that must have been one of the later ones. The early ones (some on YouTube) are very grainy, the puppet strings are very obvious and the sound quality is poor. But still a treat to watch, and they probably looked better on our 9" black and white screens of the day.
