    First Day

Today, my GS1 started work! He's got an apprenticeship in IT with a local firm. It's quite a small place which I think will be good for GS. His mum said he was nervous this morning, and although he'll be able to get there by bus, she gave him a lift today.

It feels a bit like that first day at school, when you hand them over to the teacher just hoping and praying they'll be ok, make friends, eat their dinners, find the loos and remember to bring their coats home with them!

It really doesn't seem 5 minutes since he was starting in Reception!

Daisy, I do hope all went well, I expect it did, we can always worry about them, however old they are.

I hope he has a great day Daisy Nice of his mum to take him in for the first day, one less pressure on him.

btw, my GD still hasn't been to the school loos!

Gem - your GD does well to last all day. I bet she's quite pleased to get home though.

Daisy for some reason I have GC with cast iron bladders! All of them can go hours! We are urging GD to at least go into the loos with a friend so she is aware of where they are etc if she should need them.

Gem - what a marvellous talent to have. But, yes, it's good to at least know where the loos are should the need arise.

Daisy, hope today goes well for GS.

Whenever we go somewhere new/different, first thing i want to know is where are the loos.

Hope GS's first day as a working lad went well Daisy!

Gem, the first place my two went when they got home was the loo! Not sure how they managed to hold on, but they did! My primary school had outside loos with no roof, so I can't remember using them very often!

WG my (private!!) primary school had outdoor loos too - but they did have a roof!

My junior school had outdoor loos as well - old brick air raid shelters with sacks for doors, and no hand basins. We did eventually get sort of half doors like you see in America.
