    Bubble birthday parties

On Friday my 4 and a half year old grandson came out of school glowing!
According to him Oliver had had a party and GS had a fantastic time

GD explained to me on the way home that although it may have been Oliver's birthday that day or over the weekend, the party was for all children in the class with a birthday in this second half of term. Due to lockdown no parties at all otherwise. I think it's lovely that the school is doing this.
Each class will be doing the same.

If we are still in Tier 2 next term (or back in lockdown! ) they plan to do the same for children with birthdays over that period.

Gem, that's such a lovely idea - what a great thing for the school to do and parents must be so pleased as well as the children.

As the old saying goes “necessity is the mother of invention” Children set such store by their birthday and a party in some form is a must.

I live right next to a playing field and a playground. Yesterday lots of cars parked and children emerged ,obviously going to a party with wrapped parcels etc. Though from my house I couldn’t see what was actually happening I assume it was an outdoor party in the play park.

Glad GS had a lovely time Gem.

I'm not sure what the rules are in Wales at present Clover (who knows what they are exactly anywhere??!!)
Here during this present lockdown there in no mingling indoors or outdoors except for meeting one other person. Even outdoor parties are ruled out.
What an enterprising idea where it is allowed though. No doubt the first time that child had his or her birthday party outdoors!

Clover - I'm sure all those children had a wonderful time and, unlike us, they wouldn't notice the cold.
