I hoe no-one's offended by this - it was all in innocence.
I was at DS2's with both GDs and Cooper, waiting for mummy and daddy to get home from work. The girls were reading/playing on their Fires. Cooper has a very accurate sense of timing and goes to the living room window where he can see the car arriving. But mum and dad were late tonight. Every so often he'd go and look and make a little grumbly sound, not quite barking or growling, but a rumbly noise. He did it several times and the girls starting copying him, amid giggles. Then of course they got louder and sillier and, trying to calm Cooper down, I asked them to stop barking.
GD2 "It's not barking, Grandma."
GD1 "No it's dogging."
GD2 "Yes that's right, it's only dogging."
This is the point when Grandma offers up a silent prayer of thanks that she can hand this one over for Mum and Dad to deal with when the time's right.
