    Good week for GD1

This week GD1, who can be quite shy, has been doing a performance and craft week. Singing, dancing, circus skills and crafts - making their own props for the production they did today.

They went to a Care home and got a great reception from the residents. They had time as well to chat with the residents.

Then they came back to the arts centre and performed in the little theatre for friends and family.

It was lovely to watch GD's intense concentration, but she thoroughly enjoyed it and they all did very well. GD2 was very excited to see her big sister 'on stage'.

Well done to GD1. She deserves a medal.
I bet the residents at the care home loved seeing the kiddies.

        Daisy, how lovely for her
I bet she had a wonderful time and feels proud of herself!

My youngest daughter did many of these one week courses with performances during school holidays over the years, and loved them
They are so good for their creative side and social skills, especially if they are a bit shy .

Do you think your other granddaughter will want to do this when she's older?

Thank you everyone - I'll pass your comments on to her - she'll be so pleased.

It probably helped gD1 that there were only 6 children on the course, which was such a pity in one way, but it meant they all got lots of attention. The other children were lovely and friendly and they all worked well together.

Gem - GD2 would adore the course! She wasn't old enough, unfortunately, - it was aimed at 8-13 year olds. But she did two half days - one singing and one dancing. I would have loved to have seen her - she throws everything she's got into her performances.

Well done to her. Great for confidence building and enjoying it at the same time. I bet the residents enjoyed the youngsters company as well as the performance.

GD was very brave to sign up to do a performance if she is shy, good for her. I bet the old folk enjoyed their visit.

Congratulations to your eldest GD Daisy. Any sort of drama, acting etc is such a confidence booster for shy children. It is as if they can pretend (act) like someone else so they do not feel so self conscious. Hopefully it may bring her out of herself with future challenges. I bet it was lovely to watch her. You must be very proud.
