It's that time of year again. The schools are breaking up in England and Wales, and for some of our grandchildren it will mean big changes. What's happening with your school age GCs?

GD will move up to Year 5
GS1 will move up to Year 2
GS2 will start preschool
Only a couple of half days I think. He loved his trial morning, and it is on the same campus as his sister's school, so the journey and location are very familiar.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

GD2 moves up to Year 1
GD1 moves up to Year 5 (I think! Qwerty has made me wonder if it's Year 4, as I thought they were the same age!)
GS2 starts his GCSE Year
GS1 has left school, and will probably go on to college to do IT or photography. It's all very uncertain at the moment."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

GS1 a bit nervous ( but then he was last year and has had a great year) Not keen on his new teacher for some reason. He had lovely ones the past 2 years so I hope he's wrong about the next one!
GD likes next year's teacher and wasn't so keen on her present one, so that's good.
Little GS looking forward very much to his one morning a week at preschool 😊“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Sunshine - GD1 is already worrying - she's a great worrier! GS2 and GD2 take life as it comes, and GS1 is excited, worried, doesn't care, "whatever" (his favourite word when he doesn't want to communicate). I'm sure I never gave the following year a second's thought when I was at school, but I do remember relishing the extra week's holiday I had between school and College, knowing that after that I would be working and only getting two weeks holiday in a whole year!
Gem - the way they gel (or otherwise) with their teachers is so important, isn't it!
