My elder grandson aged 6 is a difficult sleeper!
Needs a lot of cuddles pre bed, a Fairy Spray to keep bad things away, as well as stories of course. Takes a long time to fall asleep (as did his mummy as a child) and comes into mummy's bed a lot during the night. His chosen time to get up would be 5 am, but he has been persuaded that before 6 is too early. Various methods have been tried over the years to solve this and now and 6 and half, it is a lot better, mostly.
This means he has had less sleepovers with me than his cousins, who go to bed and stay there and wake at a reasonable time in the morning, have.
He has had 2 or 3 sleepovers at one his aunties, and one with the other.
This half term a sleepover with his school friend was planned!
I really thought that DD or SIL would be going to get him late evening or in the early hours. They live 2 minutes walk away so not a problem in that sense.
DD and SIL went out for meal locally and early in case of any problems.
His friend H is an only child too and has the loveliest mum and dad (On another thread this is the lady I thought had passed her driving test when coincidentally someone with the same name had)
She had them both T shirts with their names on made for the sleepover.
This morning I hear it all went well
They were awake quite late last night and up again at 6, but all went well and happily.
H's mum and dad are taking both boys out today.
I say really well done GS1, and really well done H's mummy!!
