Today was the Grandparents school lunch at my granddaughter's school. A very organised affair with each year having a slot 15 minutes after the last. GD is in Year 4, their slot was 12.30
GD had the largest number of grandparents, 6 of us
A friend of GD who had no GP there shared our table.
We checked in at reception then joined our children and went into the canteen. We queued up, got colourful plastic plate/trays then got our lunch. Fish, chips, peas or baked beans, dry bread, and a banana muffin. I declined the bread and muffin but the fish, chips and peas were very acceptable.
Once lunch was finished we all went in to the playground.
GD and friends showed us a dance they were working on, then we went with them onto the field for a while. Younger children probably want their GPs to play with them, but not cool 9 year girls!
All too soon it was 1.15, the bell went and the children went back into school.
We all enjoyed it, and felt privileged to share this with our granddaughter.
