    A Special Song

GD1 has been looking forward to her big cousin's 15th birthday party for a couple of weeks. This was at our house yesterday. She arrived with home-made posters and greetings which she blue-tacked to doors and walls. She had invented and set up a kind of treasure hunt game for all 6 children (our 4 GC, plus the two cousins from DIL's family). But the thing she had worked hardest on was a special song to the birthday boy.

She was very nervous about singing it to him, and wouldn't do it in front of anyone else, but GS1 absolutely loved it. The words were really appropriate and it was his kins of music!

It took a bit of persuading, but eventually she agreed to sing it again for everybody to hear. I announced her "Miss GD1 would like to entertain you with the song she composed especially for GS1's 15 th birthday, so please give a warm welcome to her ...."

Everyone clapped, and we waited with baited breath! GD1 stood tall, took a deep breath, and sang! She tapped her foot with metronome precision for the rhythm, and sang beautifully. She got a great round of applause from her audience, and was so pleased she'd been brave enough to do it. GS1 was standing there as proud as punch, too!

I can't post a pic at the moment, but will try again later.

What a talented lady Daisy and sounds like a born organiser I can see her skills needed in the future as a PA for someone high up in the world of entertainment πŸ’πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸŽ€πŸŽΌ

Thank you ladies. Yes, it was very sweet, and it was nice that GS1 enjoyed it so much, too.

I can't post much at the moment .... DS1, in his infinite IT wisdom did some kind of upgrade to OH's laptop yesterday, and 24 hrs later it's still installing, using virtually all our bandwidth.

I bet Gs1 was thrilled with his song Daisy. Gd1 is a really talented girl by the sound of it. One birthday gift he won’t forget.
