    Good enough to eat?

Today GD2 and I were in the car on the way home from playgroup.

GD2 was her usual chatterbox self, and I was only half listening as I negotiated through the traffic which seemed determined to get in our path. Then is was quiet for a few seconds. I glanced in my mirror to check GD was still there!!!

Then she piped up "Grandma, I like your hair," and before I could say 'thank you', she added "it's just like vanilla ice cream".

        How lovely Daisy!
Well, you have nice hair, and vanilla ice cream is nice, so I guess it is a compliment

She is a sweetheart, but that particular compliment made me smile.

Apparently today she has been in floods of tears because Mummy didn't have any suncream. She said she couldn't possible go out without it as the sun was shining. Her other gran had to take her to the chemist to get some!

Gem, 'sensible' isn't usually the first word that comes to mind when you think about my GD2. She's more of the, shall we say, spontaneous child, so I don't know what the palaver about the sun cream was for! Unless of course, they had to pass the vanilla ice cream shop on the way to the chemists!

I had to put sunsceen on GS2 today both yesterday and today. As he is just 2, and this is the first hot weather this year, he has forgotten about suncream. I think he thinks I have taken leave of my senses He will soon get used to it though!

Gem - I can remember the huge battles to get sunscreen on the GSs when they were little! Your GS2 sounds as though he was more bemused than reluctant!

He was somewhat resistant Daisy, but mainly seemed to think 'Why does Grandma suddenly think this is a good idea?'
