    I'm a vegetarian, remember!"

My GS, almost 5, is vegetarian. As his is mum. His dad is vegan.
DD isn't a true vegetarian as she does occasionally eat fish. She gave GS fish as a baby and toddler, then he decided he didn't want to eat it any more.

Yesterday, over tea at our house GS said he had a lovely lunch at school and that it was chicken. I presumed it was Quorn and thought no more of it.
DD2, who had picked GS up from our house last night to drop him home, texted me later to say GS told her he had chicken. I replied that it would have been Quorn. DD texted back to say no, GS was adamant it was chicken he had asked for it, and it was really nice!

DD2 said that was nice that he enjoyed it, and he was to be sure to tell his mummy. His reply was "Oh no I can't tell mummy cos I'm a vegetarian remember!"

DD2 later told her sister all about this. DD1 said she wasn't cross, it was GS's choice whether or not to eat meat. She was however not happy that he was keeping things from her so was going to have a talk with him about it after school today.

Oh dear! It's that classic situation where home values which they've taken for granted, are challenged when our little ones venture out into the big wide world. It was interesting that he made a point of telling both you and his auntie.

That is so sweet his little mind has its own logic Glad his Mummy is flexible enough to allow him his own choice ,
We have family who are all Vegans ,
The two girls had no choice in it , then when the youngest got to 14 and started to go out with her friends ,she started to secretly go to Mcdonalds eating burgers .
All hell broke out when her parents found out .
She stuck to her guns as she enjoyed the taste of meat , They finally came to a compromise she only eats meat outside of the home,
Children get to a age when they make their own minds up what they want to eat and what they WONT eat

He is starting to try things he doesn't get at home, he will then decide if he wants to be vegetarian out of the home environment.
