    The funny things they say.

Yesterday my GS was playing here & he said he was too hot. He stripped off completely & I asked if he would get too cold. He looked at me very seriously & said "I'm ok Mamar I've got my skin on". He's 4 in April. We laughed because I said "good job too'.

Our youngest granddaughter has come out with some crackers over the years. One always sticks in my mind.
We were taking her to school one morning, just after she first started, her class got a new teacher.I said do you like your new teacher, yes she replied, she's got grey hair, just like you nannan.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

When GD was about 3-4 she was watching TV with us when a trailer came advertising the Paul Ogrady show. I said oh good. I like Paul Ogrady and she said " and me, I like poor old lady too "

DD sent me a text with a conversation she had with GS (aged 6)

GS " Why do we need toilets ?"
DD "Well , where else would we go "
GS " We could use a potty but that's for babies "
DD " Yes. Did you know years ago people didn't have toilets and had to go to the toilet in the street, out of a window or in a hole "
GS " Did nanny do this ?"

How old does he think I am

                LOL Mimi!!

This reminds me when, as a little girl at the Castle Museum I asked my mum if some little Victorian boots were what she wore as a child. She wasn't impressed either

Hahaha, Mimi. Your GS clearly worries about what you get up to!

Gem, no wonder your mum wasn't impressed.

Oma - when I was little I thought the Victorians and Edwardians walked very jerkily - I didn't realise it was because of the way the very old films were shot!

DD told GS ( age 2 ) that they would make butteryfly cakes , he was very excited and helped mummy with the mixing and baking.
They made buttercream icing and cut tops off the cakes to make the β€˜wings’ .
All was well until they finished when GS demanded that she open the patio doors so that he could feed the cakes to the butterflies, when DD tried to explain that they were for him, mummy, daddy and older brother to eat GS had a complete meltdown, lay on the floor demanding that the butterflies have them..... How I remember the terrible twos !

Oh Mimi, I could imagine either of my GSs behaving in the same way at that age!
                        An easy misunderstanding 😁

Mimi - a perfectly natural misunderstanding on GS's part. I hope he eventually enjoyed them himself.

Oh well ...now this one is a corker!

DD had taken me shopping the other day as OH wasn't well. There were both of her children so it made for a lively food shop. GS2 is almost 5 & everything is poo at the minute ....his favourite is calling everyone Poohead. His mummy addresses this or ignores it, depending.

DD was down the far end of the aisle with GD. I was up the top end with DGS. He asked if he could go to mummy & I said of course he could. Whilst I watched him go towards her about half way down he shouted in a very loud voice "MY MAMAR HAS POOD HER PANTS"!!!

I didn't know where to put myself. A young man who obviously has children gave me a knowing grin. My face was as red as a beetroot. When I reached my DD she asked if I needed the loo. We both cracked up laughing with tears running down our cheeks. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜πŸ˜¨
