At half term two of my grandsons came with me on my library volunteer morning. They are 12 and almost 9, so well able to help or just do their own thing. Grandma always buys them a cake at the reading café too
At coffee break time the librarian asked me how old was GS2? '8, almost 9' I replied.
She told me she had referred to me, and asked was I Nanna or Grandma?' GS2 had said in a reverent voice 'That's Grandma. Our Nanna sadly died'
I told her he has a very grown up turn of phrase at times
I also told her this was my mum, who had died , in her 90's, two years ago. This made the librarian feel better as she worried it may have been the other gran and more recently!
