In a heartbeat! A good idea to have him save half, I would have plenty of tasks for him to do to earn the money.Last edited by Grauntie Mag; 01-03-2024, 11:13 AM.Women are like tea bags; you never know how strong they are until they are put in hot water.

Well, I took your advice and here’s my reply:
Dear Elias,
Thank you very much for your extremely persuasive letter.
Firstly, yes, Papa and I are doing very well and we had a good day although we are tired of the cloud and gloom.
It’s good to know that you love bookshops. I cannot walk past one without being tempted to go inside and buy lots of books. However, I try to resist because Papa says if I buy any more there won’t be room in the house for him and me, let alone if any of you come to stay.
Secondly, but primarily, we think that you and Mummy have been very imaginative in your fund raising scheme. We are also very impressed with the lucid and well structured way in which you have written your letter. It must have taken a lot of effort.
Therefore with this letter you will find a cheque. It is composed of three contributions, £5.00 from me, £5.00 from Papa and £5.00 from Coco. I will tell you a secret though - Coco had to have her paws twisted before she agreed. She twitched her whiskers and miaowed rather loudly in protest but we threatened to withhold her biscuits if she didn’t agree.
There is one condition though. When you have studied your wizarding book we want you to concoct a spell to frighten away Black Cat who keeps chasing Coco and frightening her and makes her naughty things. It needs to very powerful so we need ingredients that we can easily obtain and words which carry a deep magic.
We are looking forward to seeing you all at Easter. Tell Mummy that I have mended two of your trousers and the third one is nearly done.
Lots of love,
Granny and Papa xxxxxx

Sum1, that's wonderful, and I'm sure your very smart GS will be delighted with the success of his fundraising. Let's hope he can conjure up the appropriate spell to put Black Cat firmly in his place so Coco can relax.
