    Are you being served?

GD2, who is 10, has loved cooking, and especially baking since she was tiny. She says she wants to be a baker when she grows up, and often helps her Dad with the family meals.

A couple of days ago she watched with interest as her Dad used a bottle opener to flip the crown top off a bottle of beer. She asked him to show her how to do it, which he did, hoping it was just an academic interest and she wasn't going to be creeping into the kitchen in the dead of night, bottle opener in hand!

He needn't have worried! Later in the evening GD2 asked him if he'd like another beer. He said 'yes please', and GD2 went off to get it. She reappeared a couple of minutes later with a tea towel draped neatly over her arm, offering him the opened beer. We've no idea where she's seen such niceties in serving drinks, but she was giggling away and very pleased with herself.

She's got her eye on work experience at a very well-known local hotel kitchen already!
