    The things kids play with!

My 7 year old grandson along with all our GransRus GC I'm sure, is a lucky boy with many Christmas presents of all kinds.

Of all these things, what did he play with for great part of Christmas Day and bring along to our house on Boxing day??

A calculator! A fairly small grey calculator shaped like a games console controller. He asked us all to give him random sums to calculate and his dad showed him how to make sums which resulted in a word as the answer!

For some reason, amongst a myriad of Playmobile, Lego, Pokemon and dinosaur toys and games, books etc etc etc, a calculator amused him for a long time

    That made me smile, Gem.

On Boxing Day GD2 told her Dad that she was bored! So her Dad asked how she could say that when she'd had all sorts of presents just the previous day. "Oh, yes!", she said. "I forgot about them." She disappeared up to her bedroom with a big grin on her face and wasn't seen again till she was hungry!

It's not just the GCs! Cooper the Viszla had several new toys, but by far the favourite thing was 'unwrapping' a large box GD1 had hidden in. He started by carefully tearing off most of the wrapping paper, leaving the box intact. He was a bit puzzled he still couldn't find GD as she kept talking to him. He then very carefully started to tear about 4 inches along the bottom of the box (a bit like opening a tin of sardines), and when he still couldn't get to GD he continued to gnaw up the side of the box so he could see her! DS2 videoed it, and was hilarious, as well as incredible how careful and methodical he was.

Paper seems to be the favourite with a lot of dogs ,
Storm has just opened all his gifts here and played for ages with the wrapping paper.

I can remember when the boys were small any large box made for better play than the actual present 😁

I sometimes think we forget how something simple that they can use their imagination on is better than any expensive complicated gift .
Im not fat just 6ft too small
