    Theme day at school

Today GD2's year had a theme day - the Romans. They've been studying the Roman invasion of Britain this term and today they all went dressed up as Romans or Ancient Britons. GD2 chose to be a Roman Centurion. Her mum made her a lovely tunic, plus a shield and a 'sword'. She was so excited and ran into school brandishing her 'weapons' and shouting "Arrrrrrgh".

I'd asked her a few days ago would she rather be a Roman Centurion or an Ancient Briton, and she was very clear - Roman soldiers were better trained and better armed!

Apparently all the other girls went as Roman goddesses! I think I know who had the most fun, though!

    Good for that girl!

If her family ever come to York it is a heaven for Roman experience.
