    Grandson from preschool

It was lovely collecting GS2 from preschool for the first time. Last time I was there my 10 year old GD was a little one!
He was so happy and excited to see me, shouting Grandma! And running the lenght of the room into my arms
They had made jam tarts after hearing the Little Red Riding Hood story, where apparently Granny make tarts.
We went to DD's house until it was time to go back over to school to collect GD, then we brought them back to ours for a play and tea.

I don't often look after the children at their house, as their parents work close to where we live so it makes sense for them to be here and picked up after work.
GS loves if when I am there and keeps saying so. Today he said I love you (accompanied by a kiss) countless times. I really treasure this, and him.

One time I said 'I love you too you are SO cute.' 'I know' he smiled

Gem, what a little sweetheart he is.

I also had an "awww" moment today. GD1 went to a friend's for tea today so I only had GD2 (plus Cooper, of course). GD2 has a secret diary, and this morning she had offered it to me to read in my head (ie not aloud, as it's secret). Tonight she wrote in it as soon as she got home - then showed me. It said "I <little red heart> Billy". So I asked if he's nice and she said of course he is. She was so sweet. I'm so going to miss this stage when she moves on to the next.

I agree, and each age brings its own memories, but I've always loved this 5-7 range. But then I'm loving GD1 being the age she is (9) because she's so interested in all sorts of things, and I love the energy and fun of teenagers and don't mind the mood swings or grumpiness.
