    That's a bit harsh Grandma

Yesterday, after a very nice family outing on the train for lunch and the theatre, we were heading back to the station, and stopping for a drink and snack on the way.
3 year old GS was not happy that the play had finished and he wasn't able to watch it again. Then he wanted his sister (aged 10) to carry him, which she did for a short while. DD then carried him on and off but its quite a walk and he's heavy, at 3 and a half.
He was wittering and whining (he could get a diploma in it) and I asked him he would want a cake when we got to the cafe. He said Yes so I said that if he kept crying and being silly they would think he wanted a baby bottle not a cake. 7 year old GS, cousin of the others said to me 'Grandma, that's a bit harsh to a little one!'

Gem - your GS1 is an amazing little lad. He's got wisdom and empathy way beyond his years - what I would call and 'old soul'.

And I don't think you were a meany Grandma. Diploma level wittering and whining is very trying, but I think you said it was his first play, so perhaps he was just over-whelmed by all his new experiences. I hope he slept well.

Nasty Grandma!!! Made me chuckle though! Hope that family harmony has been restored today.

GS2 is used to my 'harshness' and seems to adore me
It was his second play Daisy (but first train journey!) He and I went to see The Tiger Who Came To Tea in the summer, and he didn't want that to end either!!

Gem - sorry, I'd forgotten about him going to see The Tiger Who Came to Tea. I think you're going to have another theatre enthusiast in your family.
