Yesterday I was in the garden with 9 year old GD and her little brother, aged 3.
GD was playing with a tube of bubble mixture with a wand, the larger type which produce big bubbles when you wave them about.
She was having fun running around and turning in circles. GS had a little pot of bubbles of his own but of course wanted to try to do what his sister was doing.
We held the tube so he could fill the wand and off he went. The effect was not the same as when his sister did it. We gave him hints, and I said 'when you run around with it wave your arm as you run'
Off he set, bubble wand in right hand, left arm waving furiously.
GD was almost in hysterics. I then told GS that he had to wave the arm with the wand in it.
He was only doing what I told him after all
