We had the twins for tea after school this week, they both went upstairs to the loo and brought some toys down, I don’t know who was last down but they left the lounge door open , I asked who was born in a field and M piped up seriously , “Baby Jesus “ , I couldn’t deny it could I lol

We rarely close our living room door as with three cats there is always someone wanting to come or go! Likewise the kitchen door, which opens into the hallway is never closed, as they need to pass through there to get to the cat door and outside.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

The only doors we keep closed are the ones to the dining room - one from the living room and the other from the kitchen. If we leave the kitchen one open it bangs into the fridge freezer, and the one to the living room bangs against an armchair. We've always let our dogs have the run of the house otherwise, as Gem says, you're forever playing doorman to them.Unless it's really cold, like it is now, we leave the back door open all the time as well. I don't like the feeling that you can't just step outside into the garden.
So I suppose we do live in a field in a way.
