    Was it a compliment?

    Yesterday the GDs and I were in my summerhouse sorting out paints for the project they were working on. GD1 started to look through a few odd paintings in there, then paused and looked at me, back at the paintings and said "Grandma why is it you can paint, but you can't draw?'

      😆😂🤣 Don’t you just love them?
      My latest compliment was from 9 year old GS at a horse event on Sunday. ‘Grandma, you’re the best smelling thing around here’. 😁

            Not just GC Daisy who can give a 'back-handed compliment'.........my DS when he saw my latest attempt said : Well you can see the improvement in your work Mum!

            GM.....can smell you from here!!Chanel No 5 is it ?


            p.s. wish I had a GD......my Gs only wants to play football/cricket or do something physical when he's around. Be nice to sit and paint or draw!!

              WG - one of my GSs enjoys art and when he was little we would often sit and draw, colour or paint. I feel as though I've been greedy now - 3 out of 4 GCs who like art!!..

              I think GD1's point of reference is her mum, who has a talent for drawing cute, interesting animals, people or whatever. So if one of the girls asks her to draw a giraffe it will look like a giraffe, but my giraffe might look more like a warthog!

              Grauntie - at least that was definitely a compliment.

              Gem - I think GD was just puzzled!

                Like WG I miss all the painting and crafts I used do with my GD, my first grandchild. GS1, second grandchild is disinterested.
                However, GS2 has started to enjoy drawing so my hopes are up again
