    Who here believes in God?!

Last week my older grandson, 5 and I were at the local park. After a while a little boy his age came over and asked if GS wanted to play. Being him, he needed time to process this, so I thanked the boy and said 'I think he will in a minute! Maybe you go and play a bit?' He did and eventually GS called to the boy and they played. The boy had a football so after a while they played with that and ran off to the goal posts. GS has no ball skills but he managed
I followed them to sit closer so I could keep an eye on GS.
The other boy's mum was there with her baby. Eventually the boys came back and we all had a ice cream, then GS asked them if they ate meat. They do. He told them he is a vegetarian and eats no meat or fish. He then said his Nanna (my mum) was nearly 90 and really believed in God, so he wasn't to say 'Oh God' in front of her (This made me smile as I have never heard him say such a thing anyway!) He then asked the group 'Who here believes in God?' Little boy put up his hand and GS did too 'We both believe in God!!' GS exclaimed in delight. He then asked something really mundane, such as what the boy's favourite colour was. The mum and I were looking at each other and controlling our laughter
I don't think my grandson will have a problem with small talk at parties

Children have there own way of processing stuff don't they its very unique
We had a conversation with GS1 some years ago about God as he asked if I believed in him
I said no I didn't but that he had to make his own mind up when he became older if he did or not and that everyone had their own idea of what god was or wasn't ,
He then went on to ask who in the family did believe so I told him who I thought did and who I knew did but I wasn't sure about the rest ,
It fascinated him for a while but he hasn't mentioned it since ,
GS2 on the other and said God was a Alien and sent Jesus down on a space ship , we were highly amused and my DS his dad was stunned and has no idea where he got that little nugget from
B y the way I think he may be right , I like that theory
Im not fat just 6ft too small

So true, your GS really is one on his own Gemini.

Wasn't there a song Oma about a Spaceman who came travelling on a ship from afar......and continued with a reference to Jesus being born?

I think he despairs of our generally non religious (but loving and caring) family and was happy to find another 'believer' apart from my mum!!

WG was it Chris De Burgh (sp)? I seem to remember that's the first line & there's a lot of "na na na na na na na" in the song. I liked him for a bit yrs back but went off him rapidly.
