    More ducks!

DD2, SIL and the children went to Lotherton Hall, near Leeds on Sunday. There is a bird garden, and apparently penguins (It is several years since I have been there, I don't remember penguins)
A sunny free day, and impromptu visit.
GS2 was delighted with the penguins. At just turned 2 he hasn't seen a lot of these type of things. DD sent a video of him with his sister, watching through an underwater viewing area. He could see them above and below water. He was so excited and kept shouting 'More ducks!! '. Meaning a lot of them. GD kindly explained, no these are penguins! His happy excited giggles were pure joy

GD, 8, was in what DD describes as teenager mode at first, not really wanting to go, it was boring etc. Of course as she loves animals, soon she was excited, and obviously delighted in sharing her little brother's happiness

It is lovely when little ones giggle, Gemini, my GGS finds the kitten very funny when he races around.
What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Gem - what a lovely day out for GD and GS2. I'm sure in years to come he will love looking at that video!

What a lovely day out enjoyed all the more for being last minute I would guess.
My DIL is a friend of Chester Zoo and she has her membership paid as part of her birthday prezzie from DS2 every year she often calls to take GGD with her as they get so many free entries per year and the enjoyment this little one gets from seeing the penquins being fed is second to none.

Some of my best days out have been spent enjoying the laughter, surprise and delight of little children. If we could see things through the eyes of a child we all wouldn’t be so stressed I’m sure.
I remember years ago when we were at the Eden Project. We were sat out side enjoying a drink when mum and dad duck and lots ducklings came waddling along . They were more than happy to take a short cut under the tables and chairs to get to their chosen destination much to the delight of the children and even the grownups .
I was so busy watching them I missed a wonderful opportunity for some lovely photos
Bring me sunshine in your smile.
