    Good & Bad news

Within the last hour we have had lovely news and awful news.

First we had a phone call to say Brian's Niece gave birth to a Boy 20 mins ago .
Then straight after a phone call to say one of his oldest friends has only a couple of weeks to live with Liver, Bowel and spleen cancer and its rapidly spreading around his body
life is a strange thing isn't it

Such happy and sad news Oma. Welcome to the baby, and I am very sorry to hear about B's friend

Not much good news around my DD2 atm either. Her friends daughter was at Manchester arena yesterday, and now one of DDs other close friends is in hospital as her waters have broken at 32 weeks. She is expecting IVF twins. Really hoping all goes OK, I think they have a good chance at 32 weeks.

Congrats on the baby Oma. Sorry to hear about Brian's friend. What a mix up of emotions. Gem sorry to hear about your DD's worries. My GS2 was an IVF baby & was born 7wks early. He's now a very sturdy nearly 3yr old. Remember Qwerty's twin GC too... miracles do happen.

Oma - a new baby is always cause for rejoicing - congratulations to you all. But so sad to hear about B's friend. I hope he is getting good palliative care, poor chap.

Gem - Sending love and best wishes for your DD's friend's twins. As other have said, look at Qwerty's amazing twins. xx

Very sad to watch a friend dying, his friends watched out for each other when they were in the forces and support when needed in times of pain.

What sad news about B's friend. So lovely he and his wife have the support of such good friends. I pray the end will be as peaceful for him as possible.

The news about the baby is wonderful.

Oma I have just caught up with this, so sorry to hear about B's friend . OH heard today that our dear neighbour has had all his family around him as he has throat cancer . Sad to say the Drs don't think he has long to live. It wasn't diagnosed until a few weeks ago and there isn't anything that can be done for him.

On a lighter note, it's wonderful news about the baby . Congratulations all round
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Bittersweet news Oma, great about the new baby. But incredibly sad for Brians comrade, at least he isn't sufferering as they have his pain under control. Funny old world thats a fact.
