You all know I finished my full time paid employment on 24th of last month with the Charity I worked for and the couple of daft requests from the AM when we where discussing my options I did request that I be considered for 2 days a week part time cover for Shop Managers days off but was told there is no funds in the budgets to pay me for my time and experience,shock horror !! yesterday she phoned me and asked if I would cover DDs shop for the next 3 weeks on Mon/Tuesdays whilst she goes on a training course,apart from the fact that we go to Majorca on the 20th for 10 days I seem to think she has forgotten there are no funds all she wants to pay me is £3.20 travel fare and to add insult I have a bus pass so I don't think I shall be offering my services again in the near future.

Too many "managers" seem to get jobs because they can talk themselves up but have no real retail or life experience. The new AM of the charity shop I volunteered in was hopeless. Thought she could operate a one size fits all system and charge top prices for clothing and goods then wondered why the sales figures dropped!xxComment

Do you find they talk down to you because you are a volunteer and they are paid.
They might be forgetting that all the volunteers have had careers and could be more capable then they are.

I think you are right GJs I have meet more AMs coming down the ladder than progressing up the ladder they are so full of their own importance,I am convinced they pick the brains of employees and use their knowledge for their own advancement she will have to cover the days off of her managers for the next 6 weeks as I am refusing to volunteer until after my house move and holiday.Keep Calm,You're FabulousComment

GJs no you are right it was about a year ago when one became available where we wanted to move to but at that time we where unsuccessful, now we have the one we first wanted a few years ago so it has all come right in the end,we are looking to move when we come back from Majorca in a couple of weeks so we will certainly need the holiday to get ourselves in the right frame of mind for all the faffing about we will be doing when moving date arrives.Keep Calm,You're FabulousComment
