    A Most Able Child

It was Parents' evening at GD1's school today, and her mum and dad went along not really knowing what to expect. They know she likes school, usually tries to do her best etc, but weren't prepared for her teacher saying she's one of the most able children in the school!

Mum and dad have been invited to a meeting to look at how best to support her and build on her current achievements through the school's "Most Able Children" scheme. So Mum and Dad - and Grandma are very proud of her and are delighted that she is thoroughly enjoying school. The teacher said they offer this to children who are showing exceptional ability in one of the main curriculum areas - and GD1 is exceptional in all of them.

I have to say that our main reaction was stunned! There is nobody in her family on either side who excelled at school. We were all rather disinterested learners and at school just went through the motions and did as little as possible to avoid getting into trouble.

Long may GD1's interest in learning last.

That's lovely Daisy, well done to her. A similar thing happened with DGS, it was called something like Fast Track, there was a group of about 10 children who were given extra support and encouragement.

As I have said before GS1 is a gifted child and has been supported all through Primary into Senior school , they help these children so much and encourage there talent , I'm sure your GD will be exceptional Daisy now they have noticed how bright she is and can advance her schooling in the right direction , Doesn't it make you swell with pride thinking how well they are doing , long may it last 😊
