    Busy birthday weekend coming up

My darling GD will be 7 years old on Saturday. Seven years since I became a grandmother!

On Saturday afternoon we are having a family party at her house. We will collect my mum, and take her along to the celebrations.

On Sunday DD, my OH and I are taking GD and a few friends to Escape in Doncaster. They will have a meal and enjoy either bowling or a film, not sure which has been decided on. We are happy to assist and take part whatever
SIL has a karate exam that day , so the plan was for the other gran to look after the baby, 6 months. However when asked she told DD that they will be in Greece at that time! We juggled plans and were going to take the baby with us, and one of us not go into the film, if that was what we did, but stay in restaurants and shops with him. However my DD1, his auntie stepped up and offered to have him. I think she will love it. I am not so sure about my other GS, as he is very close to his mum, and hasn't been too keen on her holding the baby so far! I hope his daddy may take him out a bit so DD can enjoy the time with her nephew.

Oma, it was more that DD had no idea that the other GPs would be out of the country for their GDs birthday weekend, until she asked a couple of weeks ago! To be fair they didn't know what DD was going to ask, DD assumed other gran would be happy to help (which she would have been were she in the country!)We both usually help out in some way and of course want to be part of the celebrations So it was a bit of a surprise to hear she wouldn't be around! All sorted now though!

I can't believe she's 7 already. It sounds as tho' you'll all have a great day. Where is Escape in Doncaster? I'm wondering if it's the complex by Asda? If it is I don't know if you're aware there's a shopping outlet nearby called Lakeside. Toysrus, M&S, Clarks, Next, small play area etc.

Ha Gem, you're as good as me on Geography. I've passed the place you're going to a few times on my way to/from Ikea. I've been on their website & it looks amazing. Hope you're feeling fit for the climbing wall.😂 Looking forward to hearing all about it. Enjoy!

Thanks Nana. Thankfully we are actually going to see a film, nothing too energetic
