Just catching up with our Twins

Well my visiting our Twins has suffered somewhat, with my Dad being poorly and seeing him through his last months. Mam will obviously still need supporting but I really do have to get back to seeing those lovely little tots.
They are now 15 months old and both walking, Luna first but now Joel is on his feet too. He's a proper little giggler and Luna squeals, but both seem happy little people.
I'm feeling like the "Other" Grandma even though my DD2 had them, she is the one who goes out to work. I shall have to work on my relationships much harder. But hey, they're all worth it.

GJ, your priority has naturally been helping your mum and dad when they needed you, and supporting your mum after dad passed away. You will always support your mum and be there for her. As you say, you need to do other things too, especially seeing those twins!
You don't live too close to them, so I know it's hard to see them as often as you would like.
I agree that working on things will help you feel less like the Other Grandma.

GJ - I can't believe they're 15 months already. I'm sure you will get into a pattern of seeing the twins irrespective of who is at home with them. I'm sure they will be keeping you very busy one way or another, and I bet you Mum will love hearing all about their progress. xx

Jules I can read in your post how much you have enjoyed your time with the little ones, how times flies 15 mths already and tottering about (double trouble) lol.Its a really good idea to work at your relationship even if you don't visit as often as you would like to,maybe next time you could have some one to one time with your DD as a special treat to you both and leave the men with the babies for a wee while,or have them stay and you do granny sitting duties whilst parents go out on their own for a while. xxx glamma

GJs there's nothing like children's laughter to 'warm the cockles' & you have it in stereo. It shows what a loving, caring DD you are to have offered so much support for your parents. Enjoy bonding with your GC again. Time for some fun.x

GJ, we would love to be two places at once, but we cannot, and your mam and dad would have needed you, then your mam needing your support, i am sure your family understand, its so hard, especially if your GC live far away from you, bet it was lovely hearing and seeing your GC, i cannot believe there 15 month already, these babies dont seem to be babies very long do they... x
