Things have been rather quiet at work relating to the new AM I do think she has been told to back off relating to her "boutique" ideas for our shops and to leave well alone, this past month she has conducted performance assessments on her staff (all 3 of us)and the results are in,DD who goes over her expected job discription on all sorts of matters has scored over all on all aspects of her job as Average, even though she is mine and I am somewhat biased she does do much more than expected of her she has made contacts with the Womens Safe House which is local to her store and made sure they have her details if mums & children require emergency clothing etc, also she is involved with me with supplying the homeless on the Streets in Liverpool with warm coats and gloves and sourcing furniture for families who are starting from scratch and this year we have raised 9K towards sending 45 underprivilaged boys and girls to summer camp all this has not been mentioned on the summing up in extra achievements column,I take youngsters/young men/women from Mencap who are undergoing their Duke of Edinburgh awards for 4 x 3 hrs slots per week and team them up with a "buddy" all these extras are missing from our assessment so our Head Office HR when they receive the said information will not be aware of our extra activities will they,I have been classed as needing more in depth training so when we have our team meeting on 28th I can see some home truths coming to the front of the discussions as in,"why in the past 2.5 months have I only seen you 5 times and how can make an accurate assessment on my character and work related activities. ??? Watch this space for fireworks ladies Glamma is not in the least pleased

I really do appreciate she has a job to do as I have been in the same position with previous employers quite a few years ago but I'm afraid my comments would be on the lines of "at this moment in time due to me being new to this position I will strive to engage in more depth with the manager concerned and give her/him my full support" then go out of my way to give a more comprehensive report the next time the process needs completing.Keep Calm,You're Fabulous

She sounds like she is too full of her own importance and she likes the sound of her own voice. Sadly most of us know/ worked with people like this.
Wouldn't it be great if we could put them all on an island on their own and that way they could get on each other's nerves and we would all get some peace.Bring me sunshine in your smile.

I'm all for that Mimiwell the end of the week was today and not so much as a phone call to see how we had done over the week not really my idea of a good performing AM I would want to know how my team had done over the last week,I just wonder who did the initial interview she must have talked a good talk to get taken on or the powers that be are blinkered as to the unrest amongst the workforce it certainly would not bode very well if her managers decided to leave the company, this has been mentioned by one of the other managers as she is so so tired of being undermined as to her skills in a job she has done for 8 yrs with no complaint, poor woman is distraught at the thought of coming to work every week in case she is asked to change her displays again

Crazy world we live in that seems to fall over the people who can talk the talk and look away when they inflict untold damage on the workforce. One practice manager used to use assessments as a weapon! Pity employees don't have an official chance to assess the assessors. My friend did tell her it was a poxy part time job with no prospects, which took the wind out of her sails!xx
