    School choice

Some good news for a change.

My younger grandson has got a place at the local primary school where his sister is. The letter came today.
They will have one year together before GD goes on to secondary school.

We say good news, but in fact the family know I want him to stay at home at least one more term!!

Good news Gem. Makes it so much easier for the school run. My youngest GS got a place at his brother's school so his mummy is very happy. My sister's GC all, apart from one, got their first choice school. Good news indeed.

Gem, it is good news, given that he will be starting school in September anyway. I'm sure his big sister will love having him at her school, even if it is only one year. Next year my GD1 will be in Year 6 in the junior school, and GD2 will be in Year 2 at the Infants school. So the following year they will both be moving to new schools.

Yes Gemini, I think it is a good idea that GS2 will be there whilst his big sister is there

Good news indeed Gems my DGS2 and his partner the parents of my GGD 4yrs (where have the years gone) have this week received their letter to say GGD has been allocated their first choice for September just 5 mins from their home its ideal as the nursery is attached and GGS 2yrs will be going there when he is 3 yrs, makes for an easier travelling time now mummy has gone back to work.

Glamm - that's good news, but I can't believe we're already talking about school for your GGD - it only seems like she was born a few months ago. Time really does sneak up on you - and it won't be that long before GGS is following her!

Nanto,it just couldn't have worked out better as my GGDs mum doesn't drive and DGS works shifts so it saves him having to stay up when he comes home after a nightshift and take them quite a way to the little nursery she is at now, hopefully mummy will get herself sorted with her driving test so she doesn't have to rely on DGS as the children get bigger.

Glamm - I do hope your GGD's mum gets on with learning to drive - it will make such a difference to the family as a whole. It's not just now, it's later on if the little ones do any out of school activities or have to be taken anywhere for appointments etc.

Is GGD looking forward to starting school? I wonder if the schools will be able to do their usual trial days etc this summer. I suppose it's quite possible that they won't go back at all during this school year.
